Parade of Paws 2010
On Saturday, June 12th, The Spokane Humane Society hosted the 7th Annual Parade of Paws pledge-driven dog walk. The day was absolutely gorgeous with plenty of sunshine; we had been worried with all the rain and cold weather!
This year was the largest Parade of Paws with 777 walkers, 580 dogs, and raising over $45,000! Wow, what an incredible event and there is no way that we could have made it happen without all of the incredible community support.
It was amazing to watch the variety of dogs start and finish the walk! The tiny little Chihuahuas and the huge Mastiffs all made it through, some all the way up to the top of the mountain to be blessed!
Thank you to all of the sponsors who stepped up, the teams who raised money, the individuals who tirelessly worked to get pledges, Father Charles for blessing of the animals, the vendors who set up shop, the volunteers who worked before, during, and after the event, and the incredible Parade of Paws committee. The Parade of Paws committee spends countless hours planning and working to make this event a huge success!
The dogs of the Spokane Humane Society who were able to make the walk were taken out and walked and loved throughout the day! They all had happy smiles on their faces by the end.
Please start planning for the 8th Annual Parade of Paws on Saturday, June 11th. Invite all of your family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors to come join us and have a great time!
