You’re off to a great start looking for your new best friend at the Spokane Humane Society. We have some of the best pets anywhere around!
Each animal is screened for health and temperament, vaccinated, wormed, spayed or neutered and microchipped. Cats have tested negative for feline leukemia. Adoptions come with a 30-day ShelterCare health insurance policy and most veterinarians in the Spokane area will provide a complimentary wellness exam following the adoption. What’s even better is that virtually all of our animals are ready to go home the same day as the adoption.

We use Meet Your Match™, a fun, scientifically-researched program to help you select a pet that is most compatible with your lifestyle and expectations.

Steps
1. Visit our shelter and look at our animals available for adoption. Read their paperwork and be sure to look at their Meet Your Match™ category. Click here for shelter hours
.
2. Talk with one of our adoption counselors. They can answer questions and go over any special needs the animal may have.

Foster care
Our foster care volunteers temporarily take pets into their homes. We may not have room for a particular animal, it may be sick and need a little extra care, or it may benefit from some human socialization to prepare for adoption. If you'd like to help the animals in this way, contact Jenna Bell at
(509) 467-5235 ext:28 or jbell@spokanehumanesociety.org .
Outreach
Join the outreach program if you'd like to provide education about animal care to area schoolchildren. Dori Peck, our outreach coordinator, can tell you more. Reach her at (509) 467-5235 ext. 11 or dpeck@spokanehumanesociety.org.
Rescue groups
Rescue groups may have connections we don't have, so they give our animals a further chance at adoption. Rescues are encouraged to partner with us. Please get in touch with Randi Oien at (509) 467-5235 ext: 14 or roien@spokanehumanesociety.org
Volunteer
It takes a lot of people to run an organization as busy as the Spokane Humane Society. Our dedicated volunteers work in the office, beautify the grounds, walk the animals, help out with events and fundraisers, and lots more. Interested? Please get in touch with Jenna Bell at (509) 467-5235 ext:28 or email her at jbell@spokanehumanesociety.org
