Here at the Spokane Humane Society, we know how hard it is to struggle with the loss, or impending loss of a pet. When an animal is suffering, sometimes the kindest thing we can do is to provide a peaceful and painless end to the suffering.
Our caring staff provides skillful and compassionate euthanasia for seriously ill or suffering animals. No appointment is needed, but we ask that you arrive before 4 pm. Please be aware that owners are not able to be present during the euthanasia process; check with your own veterinarian for this service.
If you have an emergency after hours, please contact the Pet Emergency Clinic at (509) 326-6670.
We also provide mass cremation services for already-deceased animals or those euthanized at SHS. SHS also provides both private and mass cremation options for an additional fee.
Private Cremation fees start at $120 and go up depending on the weight of the pet.

Pet Loss Resources
When losing a beloved pet, many people go through the same, intense grieving process as if they had lost a human family member. Unfortunately not everyone understands this. It can be devastating when friends and family fail to provide needed support or say that one should simply ‘get over it’ or rush out to get a replacement pet.
We’re all animal lovers at the Spokane Humane Society, and we have been through the painful experience of losing a pet. Following are some resources to provide help during the grieving process:
|0 – 10 lbs||$30|
|11 – 80 lbs||$35|
|81 and over||$45|
